Ecommerce Fundamentals
Ecommerce has long captivated my interest, and I’m thrilled that I enrolled in this ecommerce course.
Topics I enjoyed:
Branding
Among the numerous concepts emphasized in the course, ‘branding’ stands out prominently. The importance of establishing a strong brand cannot be overstated—it enhances credibility, safeguards intellectual property, and fortifies your position in the market.”
Choosing a Brand Name
When you’re building a brand, it’s important to think about the long-term goals for that brand. While focusing on a single product can generate revenue quickly, it can also restrict your ability to expand and add more products to the brand later on.
For instance, if you start with just one product under your brand name, you might find it challenging to introduce new products under the same brand in the future.
Instead, consider creating a brand that can accommodate a variety of products over time. This gives you the flexibility to grow and adapt as your business evolves.
A product is what you sell, and a brand is who you are. By keeping your long-term vision in mind from the start, you can create a brand that is flexible, scalable, and poised for sustainable growth.
Standard vs Deluxe
When deciding between offering a standard or deluxe version of a product, it’s smart to begin with a version that is less expensive to make and will likely be more popular. This way, you can reach a larger group of customers. However, if there are customers who prefer a higher-quality “deluxe” version with special features, it’s a good idea to offer that option too. Providing two versions of the same product gives customers more choices.
For example, let’s consider a board game. The standard version might come with plastic tokens and dice, which keeps the cost lower and appeals to many people. On the other hand, the deluxe version of the same game could include metal tokens and dice, offering a more premium experience for customers who are willing to pay extra for higher quality. This approach allows customers to select the version that best fits their preferences and budget.
Lastly, don’t forget about bundles! If your products can be combined for a “bundle promo” or “bundle deal”, it’s worth looking into.

Recently, I’ve taken on the challenge of revitalizing an Ecommerce website, this time on the Wix platform. Rather than simply transferring existing content to a platform I’m more conformable with, I saw this as an opportunity to expand my knowledge base by diving into the intricacies of Wix!

Digital Marketing Fundamentals
Great refresher on some of the digital marketing keywords and basic concepts. I figured it makes sense to start from the bottom and work my way up to the more advanced lessons (even though I’ve been a digital marketer for more than five years 😊).
This LinkedIn Learning session also reminded me how much I love and miss email marketing! Definitely going to be diving back into email marketing, with a focus on the data side of things.

How to Research and Write Using Generative AI Tools
In this course I learned about the importance of writing an in-depth prompt for ChatGPT. Using the acronym C.R.E.A.T.E (Character, Request, Examples, Adjustments, Type of Output, and Extras) will go a long way for getting the best responses from ChatGPT.
